The Lifeline Fertility and Well Woman Centre, a full-fledged Clinic under the Lifeline Hospital, was started at Prathibha Junction, Kadappakkada, Kollam, on 23 February 2020. Smt J Mercykuttiyamma, Hon’ble Minister for Fisheries and Harbour Engineering, inaugurated the Clinic, in the presence of Smt Honey Mol, Respected Mayor of the Kollam Corporation.
The Fertility and Well Woman Centre will take care of – Fertility (Male & Female), Obstetrics & Gynaecology, fetal Medicine (NT Scan, Anomaly Scan), Genetics, Reproductive Health Clinic (PCOS, Menstrual Problems, Endometriosis), Menopausal Clinic, Adolescent Clinic, Family Planning, Sexual Health, Cancer Screening, Obesity Clinic, Fitness Centre, and Yoga. Also, the clinic has a highly advanced laboratory with the latest machines, as well as a well equipped pharmacy.
Genetic test facility will be available in the Clinic which will address genetic screening for any abnormality in the foetus like Down syndrome, as well as carrier state of any chromosomal diseases for parents, and genetic screening for any hereditary cancers. Prenatal genetic screening tests like Double Marker, Triple Marker, Quadruple Marker, Karyotyping, NIPT (Non Invasive Pregnancy Test), etc. will be conducted in the Clinic. Procedures like amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling shall be available at the clinic.
The Clinic will function from 8 am to 6 pm on all days, except on Sundays. Consultation on Sundays will be started soon.
